There are many different tribes along the Columbia River in the United States, each with traditions and customs involving the headdress. This website mainly focuses on the Clackamas, the Wascos, and the Wat-la-las. The focus of the research is on the various appearances of headdresses between the tribes, as well as the crafting materials, the symbolism and their importance across and between tribes.
